We’re less than one week away from celebrating 50 years of R K Henshall.
Many things have changed over the past five decades, but one thing has remained constant: our commitment to the local community.
As we prepare to celebrate this milestone, we wanted to take a look back at some of the events and organisations that we’ve been proud to support over the last few months.
Crewe Business Show
We’re a regular fixture at the Cheshire Business Expo shows, and the event at Mornflake Stadium is also fantastic. We caught up with some familiar faces and made lots of new connections with other businesses in the local area.
Elworth Cricket Club
Last month, some of our team went down to Elworth to watch their home match against Bagnall Norton. We’ve been proud sponsors of Elworth Cricket Club for a long time now and were thrilled to see them achieve promotion later that month. Congratulations to everyone involved.
Cyber Awareness Event
In September, we hosted our first Cyber Awareness Event bringing together staff, clients and industry experts to discuss cyber security and emerging risks.
The event took place at Sandbach Rugby Club and featured speakers from the Northwest Cyber Resilience Centre, Cheshire Police and Chubb. Each offered valuable insight into the cyber risks that businesses and individuals face, the support available and what to do if your business is targeted.
The Regional Organised Crime Unit then put the attendees’ knowledge to the test with an immersive table-top escape room. It was an insightful exercise, which demonstrated how a cyber incident can unfold and how teamwork can help businesses respond effectively to stop a cyber attacker in their tracks.
Sandbach Rugby Club
We were thrilled to host our Cyber Awareness Event at Sandbach Rugby Club, as we have also recently renewed our long-standing sponsorship of the club.
A number of the R K Henshall team, including our Director John Henshall, have laced up their boots at Sandbach over the years, making the club a special place in the hearts of many in our office. We’re pleased to continue supporting an organisation that plays such as important role in our local community and the work that they do within it.
Sandbach 1st XV are also sitting nicely at the top of the table, in the Regional 2 North West league.
Broker Expo
A couple of our team went a little further afield and popped down to the NEC for Broker Expo on Thursday 8th October. Everywhen exhibited at the event, and it was great to catch up with colleagues from across the business.
We’re looking forward to continuing the community spirit into November, with our upcoming Give Back Day – The Ardonagh Group’s annual company-wide charity day next week. Some of our team are then using their volunteering day to help one of our local charities, Supported Community Business (SCB), later in the month.
It’s our way of giving something back to the communities that have supported us throughout our journey, and we look forward to doing so for many years to come.
