Support and Claims

We recognise just how stressful and traumatic claims can be, and we understand the importance of providing an outstanding claims service to our clients. How we deal with your claim can be a real defining moment in proving how good our service can be and so we want to get it right.

The R K Henshall in-house claims team has a number of years’ experience of handling claims across a wide range of insurance covers from private car to commercial fleet claims, house insurance to commercial property claims including Business Interruption, and Liability claims such as Employers’ and Public/Products liability.

We are on hand to answer many of the questions you’re likely to have and will walk you through the claim process from start to finish, ensuring that we collate the necessary information an insurer requires to process a successful claim and issue settlement within a reasonable timescale.

Part of our service involves collating and presenting motor fleet claim summaries and discussing problematic areas and seeking ways of improving the fleet performance. These can be arranged on a quarterly, half yearly or annual basis at the client’s request.

In the event of large claim, we can arrange site visits to advise on the claim process and assist with the collation of relevant information including liaising with the insurer’s adjusters to ensure the best possible outcome for the you. We can also offer the services of a loss assessor who will work on your behalf on particularly complex claims.

Example of the service provided by the claims team

In 2018 a client called to report that a mains water pipe had burst over the weekend and was only discovered late on the Sunday night. Our claims team met with the insured on the Monday morning to assess the damage and assisted with information collection including taking photographs of the fallen ceilings, sodden kitchen units, advising on what they can do to help remove the 6 inches of water including authorising the hiring of dehumidifiers to assist with the drying process, listing the damaged and not damaged items, advising on which items can and cannot be moved or disposed of and then presenting the claim to the insurers. We met with the adjuster and the insured on several occasions, liaising with contractors and were able to achieve settlement of the claim within a 3 month time period all to the clients satisfaction.
