A retailer with a £ 3m turnover suffered a data breach affecting 5,000 of the customer records. The Cyber liability insurers stepped in to resolve the issue. The total claims cost to resolve the issue was £52,000, made up of legal costs – £6,500, PR/ Communication costs £12,000, Response Costs £10,000, PCI and ID Monitoring costs £23,500.
